Representatives of People with Disabilities met the UNAMI Kirkuk office on 15 December in Kirkuk.
Representatives of People with Disabilities met the UNAMI Kirkuk office – colleagues from the Offices of Political Affairs, Human Rights, and Development Support - on 15 December in Kirkuk. They highlighted challenges in the sectors of employment, education, health and access to social services, while maintaining a positive attitude and recommending constructive solutions. Representatives called on the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) to advocate for the full implementation of Law 38 (2013) on the Care of Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs, and of the Convention of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), and for the protection of all their rights.
