Kirkuk, Iraq, 7 November 2018 - UNAMI’s Human Rights Office (HRO) conducted a training session for staff of the Iraqi Independent High Commission for Human Rights (IHCHR) in Kirkuk City. The training was aimed at strengthening the capacity of the participants in drafting human rights reports following the conduct of human rights investigation or monitoring.
This is the third in a series of capacity-building trainings that UNAMI HRO and IHCHR agreed to hold this year.
The training, “Drafting Human Rights Reports: Practical Guidance and Suggestions”, focused on the types of human rights reports and how they are used to present findings of fact-finding activities, advocate for positive changes, and propose recommendations for corrective action.
Fifteen staff members of IHCHR – nine men and six women - participated in the two-hour training and discussion.
