Context and Core Functions / Responsibilities
IOM Iraq Protection Division (PxD) serves the protection needs of migrants, crisis-affected population and community members in vulnerable situation and supports national actors to reinforce the capacity to protect individuals from violation of human rights, especially in light of the transition from humanitarian to development, with increased focus on empowering local actors and civil societies to implement protection. Under the overall coordination of the Deputy Chief of Mission, the overall supervision of the Head of Protection Division and the direct supervision of the Protection Coordinator, the consultant will develop and produce a risk analysis on labour exploitation risks in the labour supply chain in Iraq in order to inform key stakeholders on ethical recruitment practices.
Core Functions / Responsibilities
The consultant will develop and produce a labour exploitation risk analysis tailored to the context of Iraq that will explicitly demonstrate the available labour supply chains, how labour exploitation is a prevalent form of trafficking especially among foreign nationals, and provide recommendations, highlight key steps to mitigate and address such risks that lead to labour exploitation both for IOM programming and IOM engagement to external stakeholders, primarily government actors.
