IOMInformation Management Assistant, Basrah
Context/Reporting line:
Under the general guidance of the Head, Transition and Recovery Division, the overall supervision of the Programme Coordinator, the administrative Supervision of the Head of Sub Office (HoSO) and the direct supervision of the Team Leader, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting programs related to the Transition and Recovery Division under the area of responsibility as below.
Core Functions / Responsibilities
1. Ensure timely collection and entry of quality and accurate data into various databases on the Information Management System (IMS) covering all activities under the Transition and Recovery portfolio in Missan, Thi Qar and Basra governorates.
2. Assist in verifying and preparing beneficiaries’ information packages and documentation for administrative purposes and follow procedures for documents’ internal validation.
3. Regularly update team leader and field staff on operational progress, generate progress report and extract information from the Information Management System for reporting and programme management purposes.
4. Assist in identifying mistakes in the information collected and system management, report, and act immediately to solve any issue.
5. Assist in testing the data collection tools and provide detailed feedback on ways to improve them.
6. Assist with the generation of quantitative reports for internal and external use.
7. Actively conduct data validation and cross-checking for data received from the field and follow up with teams to ensure complete and up-to-date information is uploaded and processed.
8. Provide user support and system training to the staff on ODK or any other data collection.
9. Conduct quality control and quality assurance on the Enterprise Development Fund (EDF) data, including expression of interest and other related forms, and ensure that all the hard copies submitted by the business owners are properly inserted into the IMS.
10. Create a second layer of information verification post data entry to ensure consistency of information and provide regular reports on data quality, provide regular trainings to address the identified gaps and improve data collection.
11. Ensure appropriate reporting and management of data, in accordance with IOM’s Data Protection Standard Operating Procedures.
12. Perform such other duties as may be required.
Required Qualifications
Education:
University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or any relevant field from an accredited academic university or institute.
Experience and Skills:
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in data collection and analysis, data quality check, and data collection tools.
Experience with an international organization is an advantage.
Good computer skills (MS Office, Internet). Knowledge of IOM data collection and database applications is a distinct advantage
Languages:
Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
