DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the overall supervision of the Field Security Coordination Officer the Field Security Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:
• Provides general administrative support services to assist the Field Security Coordination\
Officer/Head of Unit to fulfil their duties vis-a-vis staff members and their dependents.
• Assists the Field Security Coordination Officer/Head of Unit in the Security Operations.
• Assist the Field Security Coordination Officer/Head of Unit with the preparation of any Guard
Force related documents, reports, activities as well as providing administrative assistance.
• Drafts correspondence and maintains records for the Guard Force Security Training Courses.
• Assists in reviewing the logistics requirements and other related actions required for the preparation
of Guard Force Training, drills, and other security exercises.
• Monitors and facilitates the implementation of Guard Force security policies and procedures.
• Provides support in organizing and conducting security awareness and preparedness activities,
and provides security orientation to newly assigned staff members, as well as conducting security
briefings, as required.
• Conducts access control procedures, patrols, and ensures security of the Mission premises and issues
building entry passes as appropriate.
• Alert for any potential or actual breaches of security and any disturbances or unusual activities and
report this immediately.
• Conducts radio checks with all security guards on duty.
• Any other duty as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education: High school diploma or equivalent technical or vocational certificate is required.
Experience: A minimum of three (03) years' experience in security services with a military, police, or private security company is required.
Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in Arabic and Knowledge of English are required
