DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direct supervision of Chief Transport Officer and direct supervision of the Regional Transport Officer Kirkuk, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:
- Drives both light, heavy vehicles and Mobile Handling Equipment (MHE) ensuring compliance with security and safety regulations during trips;
- Conveys staff members to official destinations;
- Liaises with Transport workshop/ contractor on the maintenance of vehicles;
- Ensures that the vehicle(s) is/are presented for scheduled maintenance/repairs in accordance with the service schedule.
- Carries out daily checks (oil, brakes, tires, water, battery etc) on vehicles and performs minor mechanical repairs on vehicles when required, ensures cleanliness of assigned vehicle(s);
- Transports cargo to various delivery points in the mission area;
- Makes daily trip entries in the vehicles logbooks and keep records of mileage and fuel consumption;
- Collects and deliver mails to and from UN Agencies, Local Authorities, NGOs and other government offices;
- Prepares Movement of Personnel online (eMOP) and obtains proper authorization before trips, ensures eMOP is completed after the trip as and when required;
- Ensures accidents are reported correctly;
- Willing to accommodate different tasks in a flexible way, also regarding working hours and travelling to the field of operation.
- Performs any other related duties as required..
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience with heavy 4x4 utility vehicles, light passenger vehicle and heavy vehicles (buss & truck) with a safe driving record. Good knowledge of highway driving and local traffic regulations is essential.
Language: Good in written and oral in English and Arabic.
Other Requirements: Driving training and must have a valid driver’s license for both light and heavy vehicles, category B, C, D, CE. ( a copy of valid driving license should be attached) Prior experience with the UN system or an international NGO is desirable.
Other Skills: Computer skills (Word, Excel, and Power Point) are an asset.

Additional Information
- Recruitment/Contract extension is subject to budget availability and service requirement and satisfactory performance.
- In line with the principle of SR.103.4, contracts should not be given to contractores bearing the relationship of mother, father, sister, or brother to a serving staff member.
