UNAMI DSRSG Ingibjörg Sólrún Gísladóttir talks about 2021 elections in Mosul

4/August/2021: In the lead to the October 2021 Iraqi elections, the Deputy Special Representative for Iraq of the United Nations Secretary-General, for Political Affairs and Electoral Assistance, Ms. Ingibjörg Sólrún Gísladóttir, visited Mosul where she met with the Governor of Ninewa, Mr. Najm Al-Jubouri, the Mayor of Mosul, Mr. Zuhair al-Araji, and with representatives of civil society of Ninewa. She discussed the current political situation in the city, including preparations for the elections on 10 October and the issues facing female and minority candidates.
