SRSG Kubiš extends his best wishes on the occasion of Nowruz

Baghdad, 20 March 2016 – The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Iraq (SRSG), Ján Kubiš, extended his greetings and best wishes to the Iraqi people in general and to those who are observing Nowruz in particular on this special occasion.

“I would like to use this occasion to convey a message of congratulations and solidarity with those who are observing this occasion. Nowruz represents a new beginning, a time for renewal. I hope that with the progress in fighting ISIL, next year we can all celebrate this special occasion in peace, security and stability,” Mr. Kubiš said.
