IOMIOM - Project Assistant (Cash-Based Interventions (CBI) - Erbil
Context/Reporting line:
Under the general guidance of the Senior Operations Coordinator (Ret&Recov), the overall supervision of Program Officer (CBI), and the direct supervision of the National Technical Cash Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for following up on administrative tasks related to Cash-Based Interventions (CBI) in Iraq.
Core Functions / Responsibilities
1. Provide administrative and basic technical support to projects utilizing cash or voucher modalities in Iraq.
2. Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities in relation to CBI.
3. Provide general support in the drafting of concept notes, project narratives, workplans and other project-related documents in close coordination with relevant units.
4. Follow up with and monitor the work of implementing partners and financial service providers, if any, to report any issues to the supervisor.
5. Identify markets and commodities needed by the affected population in relation to the project and support market assessment before project implementation.
6. Perform vendor mapping according to the needs of beneficiaries and the project requirements, and in case of voucher assistance, prepare vendor orientation sessions and provide information about the use of vouchers and the project objectives to the contracted vendors.
7. Support the set-up of databases to track beneficiary assistance and share information with other organizations operating in the same geographical areas, in order to facilitate synergies, avoid duplication and maximize outreach and coverage of affected populations’ needs.
8. Retrieve, compile, summarize and present information and data related to CBI in Iraq and prepare and update reports, as needed.
9. Support IOM’s participation in Cash Working Group or other CBI-related meetings, workshops and forums and assist in coordinating activities with local authorities, United Nations Agencies, national and international organizations and other stakeholders.
10. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
