UNAMI Human Rights Office organized a one-day training workshop on “Enhancing Advocacy and Technical Knowledge of CSOs on VAWG and Women's Rights Based on International Human Rights Standards”
28 November 2024 – Erbil: The Human Rights Office of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) organized one-day training workshop on “Enhancing Advocacy and Technical Knowledge of CSOs on Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG) and Women's Rights Based on International Human Rights Standards”. In line with its mandate to provide technical support for the promotion of human rights and in view of the need to prevent violence against women and girls in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, HRO as part of the 16 Days of Activism on VAWG conducted the event under the 2024 theme of ‘UNITE! Invest to prevent violence against women and girls.’ The event was attended by 15 female participants from Erbil. The project aimed at enhancing the technical capacities of women's rights organizations and activists by deepening their knowledge of key international human rights standards, and their relevance to violence against women and girls.
