UN Special Representative Condemns Cowardly Terrorist Bombing in Salah Al-Din which Left Many Casualties

Baghdad, Iraq, 13 April 2018 - The Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Iraq, Mr. Ján Kubiš, strongly condemns the cowardly bombing that left many casualties among mourners attending a funeral in the village of Asdira in the Shirqat district of Salah al-Din Governorate.
The Special Representative expresses condolences for the families of the dead and wishes the injured a speedy recovery.
“This just once again shows that savagery of Dae’sh and their Takfiri ideology is beyond humanity, that for them nothing is sacred. This despicable attack against peaceful citizens signals their determination to exact maximum casualties among the Iraqi people and undermine peace and stability. With the vigilance of the Iraqi authorities and the unity of the people these attempts will fail.
