UNAMI celebrates International Mother Language Day
21 February 2022
The United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) interacts primarily in English, Arabic and Kurdish, but its staff members speak a variety of their own mother languages. This contributes to the successful implementation of the Mission’s mandate. UNAMI enjoys a rich linguistic and cultural diversity of its staff and partners from the international and Iraqi communities and components. UNAMI recognizes the role that the mother language plays to advance peace and to adopt the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by Iraqi communities.
