Context/Reporting line:
Under the overall supervision of the Head, Peacebuilding and Stabilization Division, the administrative supervision of the Head of Sub Office (HoSO), and the direct supervision of the National MHPSS Officer in close coordination with the Senior MHPSS Assistant, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the MHPSS program activities.
Core Functions / Responsibilities
1. Providing counselling services to IDPs, returnees, and members of the host community.
2. Identification of server cases that require specialized intervention and referring them to the appropriate health institutions Organize a system of referral in an outpatient mode.
3. Provide psychosocial first aid and emotional support to the affected population in case of a sudden or ongoing emergency.
4. Train focal points/volunteers in camps and communities on psychosocial support-related issues.
5. Facilitate MHPSS needs and assessments in designated communities.
6. Support the Team Leader with the daily operation Regularly monitor and map the needs and social dynamics in the concerned areas of operation:
7. Contribute to messages related to mental health, peace, social cohesion, and protection being disseminated to the affected population.
8. Support groups, focus group discussions, and public awareness campaigns should all be organized and led by you.
9. Develop, manage, and facilitate an activity plan.
10. Ensure that confidentiality and the right to privacy are maintained regarding confidential beneficiary and project information.
11. In accordance with structured reporting requirements and informal reporting needs, prepare clear and concise reports of all activities undertaken.
12. Ensure that hardcopy and electronic information systems are maintained, particularly the important notes of all key monitoring, implementation, and coordination activities.
13. Perform any other duties as assigned by programme management.
Required Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from an accredited academic university or institute.
Experience and Skills:
At least 2 years as Psychologist or Psychiatrist.
Experience in communicating and working with a wide range of people including people of culturally diverse backgrounds.
Relevant work experience is strongly required.
Languages:
Fluency in English, Kurdish and Arabic is required.
