UN Envoy Expresses His Deepest Sorrow Following Devastating Massacre

Baghdad, 18 July 2015 – The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Iraq (SRSG), Mr. Jan Kubis, expresses his deepest sorrow following the devastating massacre of dozens of innocent families preparing to celebrate the end of the Holy month of Ramadan.
“This horrible carnage is truly outside all boundaries of civilized behaviour”, Kubis said, adding that “these actions will not undermine the true and deep belief in peaceful coexistence among the people of Diyala and Iraq”.
Mr. Kubis extends his profound sympathy and compassionate condolences to the aggrieved families of the victims and wishes a prompt recovery to the wounded.
