SRSG de Mistura Strongly Condemns Car Bombing in Nasiriyah

Baghdad-10 June 2009- The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General for Iraq (SRSG) Staffan de Mistura condemned in the strongest terms the car bombing in Nasiriyah on Wednesday 10 June 2009 which left more than 35 people dead and scores of others wounded. Mr. de Mistura described the bombing as, “A cruel crime against innocent civilians that aims to derail Iraq’s stability.”

The SRSG extends the United Nations’ sincere condolences to all the bereaved families and his wishes for the speedy and full recovery for the wounded.
