Peace and blessings of Allah be upon you,
Brothers and sisters, dear people of Iraq,
At the outset of this new Hijri year, 1447, it gives me great pleasure to extend to you my sincerest congratulations and blessings. I pray to the Almighty (Glorified be He) to make it a year of goodness, security, and peace for you and for all of humanity.
This occasion, with all that it represents, is not merely a commemoration of the passage of time. Rather, it is an opportunity to renew the pledge and determination to advance along the path of justice and development, and to promote the values of humanity and enduring principles.
In this new year, we turn to the Almighty, Exalted in His Power, asking that goodness, contentment, security, and peace prevail in Iraq and throughout all of humanity.
We also call upon all the people of Iraq, from all backgrounds and affiliations, to embrace unity and reject division and discord, to strengthen the bonds of national unity, to turn the pages of the past and all that they carried, and to move forward toward a brighter future filled with hope — a future in which justice prevails, and human rights and equality in citizenship are upheld for all.
Wishing you a blessed and prosperous year.
