BAGHDAD – The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) welcomed a generous contribution of US$2.2 million from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance (BHA) to support internally displaced Iraqis, as well as Syrian refugees, living in camps in northern Iraq.
08 August 2024- Baghdad: The Iraqi Mass Graves Directorate (MGD), assisted by the Iraqi Medico-Legal Directorate (MLD) and the United Nations Investigative Team to Promote Accountability for Crimes Committed by Da’esh/ISIL (UNITAD), concluded the excavations of a mass grave site in Bir Alou Antar, near Tel Afar.

12 August 2024- Baghdad: The Acting Special Adviser and Head of UNITAD, Ms. Ana Peyró Llopis, delivered on 11 August 2024 to H.E. Faiq Zaidan, President of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), information collected by the Team from the Iraqi authorities, notably the SJC, and open sources, which has been processed for legal review and formatted in a standardized e-discovery file format. The Team had previously delivered an original, unaltered version of some of this information to the SJC in March.
