Baghdad Iraq - The Government of Norway donated NOK 20 million (approximately US$ 2 million) in support of the UNFPA humanitarian programme on gender-based violence across in Iraq.

BAGHDAD, 10 June 2020 – The Government of Japan is continuing its support to restore and improve the living conditions and stability of returnee communities in Iraq.

Baghdad –The Government of Denmark has committed DKK 6,000,000 (approximately US$870,000) to support the Government of Iraq’s response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Iraq.

Erbil — As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to threaten workforces globally, migrant workers are at particular risk of losing their livelihoods. Like in other countries, migrant workers in Iraq have been disproportionately affected by the crisis, with widespread layoffs leaving many in a precarious financial situation, unable to meet their basic needs.

Baghdad, Iraq - Every year in Iraq, too many women and children are abused and sexually assaulted by an intimate partner, a family member, a loved one.

Baghdad –The Government of Japan has committed US$2.26 million to support the Government of Iraq’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Iraq.

The World Health Organization (WHO) in Iraq is urging Iraqis to follow the instructions of the health authorities to contain the spread of COVID-19 after a rise in infections, stressing that the re-introduction of a complete lockdown in Iraq was a necessary measure in the fight against the virus.

Baghdad  –The Government of Finland has committed €2 million (US$2.2 million) to support the Government of Iraq’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Iraq.
