SRSG's Christmas and New Year Message

Greetings.

I would like to take this opportunity to extend warm greetings to all Iraqi people, in particular, the Christian community, on the occasion of Christmas and the New Year.

This time of year, brings a special sense of hope, peace, and joy. For those who celebrate Christmas, it is a time of reflection on the values of compassion, generosity, and solidarity that unites all of us. It’s a time to reconnect with the family, the community, and our shared values. It is also a time for all of us to show unity, solidarity, love and care towards one another.

Let’s hold on to the spirit of Christmas—our shared humanity and commitment to making the world a better place.  

May the New Year bring peace, happiness, and renewed hope. Together, we will continue to make strides towards a better future to everyone who calls Iraq home.
