Baghdad, 15 November 2015 - The Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Iraq (DSRSG) and Acting Head of Mission, Mr. Gyorgy Busztin, welcomed the positive momentum by Kurdish Peshmerga and other forces in defeating ISIL fighters in and around Sinjar in recent days.

Baghdad, 12 November 2015 – The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Iraq (SRSG), Ján Kubiš, presented to the United Nations Security Council on Wednesday the Report of the Secretary-General on the situation in Iraq, pursuant to Security Council Resolution number 2233 of 2015; and the Report of the Secretary-General on issue of missing Kuwaiti and third country nationals and property, pursuant to Security Council Resolution number 2107 of 2013.
Baghdad, 3 November 2015 - The United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) expresses its deepest condolences to the Iraqi people over the untimely death of MP Ahmed Abdel Hadi al-Chalabi. As a leading figure in the National Alliance and as the chairman of the Iraqi National Congress, and a senior member in the Council of Representatives, Mr. Chalabi’s passing is considered to be crucial at a time when the country is facing critical challenges on multiple fronts.
