Baghdad, 25 November 2024 – The United Nations in Iraq congratulated the Government and people of Iraq on the completion of a successful population census with the announcement of its preliminary results, underscoring the significance of the outcome to future national economic and social development policies and strategies aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals for the benefit of all Iraqis.
The ILO, in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, has launched the Job Search Club National Program in Iraq to empower youth with essential job search and employability skills.
BAGHDAD, 25 November 2024 — USAID has announced a landmark investment of up to $20 million over the next four years, marking the first-ever commitment of this scale to enhance water and sanitation services in Iraq. Through this funding, UNICEF, under the leadership of the Government of Iraq, will scale up transformative interventions across five governorates, including Maysan, Diwaniyah, Ninewa, Baghdad, and Erbil, to improve water and sanitation services for 2.5 million people, including vulnerable populations.
