Baghdad, 24 February 2025 – The Government of Iraq, supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), announced the results of the 2024 General Population and Housing Census today at a high-level national conference held in Baghdad. This marks a significant milestone in Iraq’s efforts to leverage data for sustainable development and evidence-based policymaking.

The International Labour Organization (ILO) is strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Iraq by providing training to support micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). Through the "Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB)" program, trainers and entrepreneurs receive essential business management skills to enhance employment opportunities for refugees, IDPs, and host communities.
