The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Iraq, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and local partners, launched a new series of equipment distribution ceremonies for dairy value chain development to support rural women in southern Iraq, within the EU-funded project “Restoring and Strengthening the Resilience of Agri-Food Systems in Southern Iraq”.

The International Labour Organization (ILO) in Iraq, through the PROSPECTS Partnership funded by the Government of the Netherlands, organized a workshop to examine the anticipated return of Syrian refugees and its impact on the Iraqi labour market. This event was organized in direct coordination and collaboration with several relevant ministries, including the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Migration and Displacement, the Ministry of Planning, and the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, in addition to the participation of representatives from workers' and employers' organizations.

With the participation of a delegation from the International Labour Organization (ILO), and as a significant step towards aligning Iraq’s Trade unions law with international labour standards, the Labour and Civil Society Institutions Committee in the Iraqi Parliament held a high-level discussion session on the proposed Trade unions law.
