Baghdad, Iraq, 14 September 2017 – The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General (SRSG) for Iraq, Mr. Ján Kubiš, condemns in the strongest terms the cowardly twin attacks carried out by the terrorist Daesh on a restaurant and a security checkpoint in Nassiriya, southern Iraq, which resulted in numerous civilian casualties, including many pilgrims.

Mosul, 30 August 2017 - The Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Iraq (DSRSG), Gyorgy Busztin, visited Mosul on 29 August 2017 where he met with the Governor Nawfal al-Sultan, Ninawa Provincial Council chairman Basshar al-Kiki, and a number of Provincial Council members. Separately, he conducted meetings with the head of the KDP branch in Mosul, Esmat Rajab, and Abdullah al-Nujaifi in his capacity of political advisor to the United for Reform.
