UN Iraq Special Representative Hennis-Plasschaert wishes Iraqis a peaceful and prosperous Eid-ul-Fitr

Baghdad, Iraq, 4 June 2019 - On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Iraq, Ms. Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, extends her warmest wishes of peace and prosperity to all Iraqis, particularly the Muslims.

“Eid-ul-Fitr marks the end of a month of fasting and prayer, and is a joyous occasion to celebrate our shared values of community, dialogue and cooperation,” Ms. Hennis-Plasschaert said.

“This is a time to reflect on our common challenges and find solutions in the values we hold dear. Let us meet division with solidarity, disputes with understanding, and displacement with compassion and charity.”
