Kubiš Condemns “Cowardly” Terrorist bombing in Baghdad

Baghdad, 21 March 2017 - The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General (SRSG) for Iraq, Mr. Ján Kubiš, strongly condemns the “cowardly” terrorist bombing in Baghdad’s southwestern al-Amil district on Monday 20 March 2017 in which scores of civilians were reported killed or injured.
The SRSG expresses condolences to the families of the dead and wishes the injured a speedy recovery.
“This cowardly crime adds to the terrorist Daesh’s atrocious record of targeting civilians in a futile campaign intended to inflict as many casualties as possible to cause pain on the people, just as the terrorists are being routed on the battlefront,” Mr. Kubiš said.
